Aquaculture and Aquatic Science

Aquaculture CenterThe Aquaculture and Aquatic Science AAS program is a ThinkPad University curriculum in which the use of laptop computers is integrated into courses. This major provides fundamental training in aquaculture, fisheries biology, limnology and aquatic biology. Students receive a broad-based education by exploring diverse subject matter in aquaculture and aquatic sciences. Practical, hands-on experience is emphasized using an operational aquaculture complex and a wide assortment of laboratory and field equipment.

Career Opportunities

Show and tellA variety of career opportunities are available for graduates of the Aquaculture and Aquatic Science AAS program. Such opportunities include federal, state, and private hatchery technician; aquatic biologist; fisheries technician; and environmental science technician.

Many graduates are also transferring into a number of 4-year programs at major universities throughout the United States or pursuing the Renewable Resources BT program offered in our Department.
