Title: Dairy Farm Manager
Department: School of Agriculture and Natural Resources

Professional staff position in the Agricultural Science Department providing management of the college dairy farm and facilities, instruction and/or assistance in dairy related labs, and the supervision of all dairy farm staff and students working on the dairy. Other responsibilities include: scheduling of all farm staff; management of the dairy business including risk management initiatives; management of the methane digester and nutrient management plan; coordination with campus and industry renewable energy initiatives; interaction with the college community and visitors to the dairy.
Bachelor degree in Animal/Dairy Science or a related area is required. A minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in the dairy farm production/cattle industry and CAFO/CNMP management; demonstrated business management and/or education; strong communication skills and experience in employee management; demonstrated ability to develop or build industry relationships; farm equipment operation skills; an understanding and appreciation of technical education at the associate and bachelor degree levels. Must possess or obtain a Class A CDL and pesticide application license in category A 1, plant and A 2, animal applications. The ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor is required. Previous experience working with a methane digester is desirable. Appreciation for working in a post secondary environment.
