Job Description
Title: Biology Faculty
Department: Norwich Campus
Campus: Norwich
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
Start Date: January 20, 2010
Full-time, tenure track position as Assistant Professor and Lab Coordinator, Spring 2010 for Morrisville State College’s Norwich Branch. Provide lecture and laboratory instruction to undergraduate students in Biology. The faculty member would also serve as the lab coordinator, ordering supplies and instructional materials for all labs including those classes taught by adjuncts. Courses may include: Human Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, and General Biology. Additional responsibilities include student advisement and program promotion. Day and evening instruction would be required.
Minimum qualifications: a master’s degree in biology or related field. Preferred qualifications: Doctorate degree. In addition, evidence of successful teaching in the field of biological science required with college level teaching experience preferred.
The Norwich campus is located in Norwich, NY approximately 30 miles south of Morrisville State College and offers 14 associate degree programs. Morrisville State College, located 30 miles from both Syracuse and Utica, offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degree programs. Strong programs in specialized areas such as automotive technology, equine science, dairy management, renewable resources, resort and recreation management and information technology, combined with state-of-the-art facilities where students put theoretical learning to use in real-world settings, give talented students the experience they need to become leaders in their fields. Nationally recognized for its technology initiatives, Morrisville State College has integrated the use of laptop computers into a completely wireless campus environment. Resident students also receive individual cellular phones as a replacement for shared-use phones in the residence halls.
