Dairy Management - BT

The Bachelor of Technology program in Dairy Management is offered within the Department of Agricultural Science, Dairy Management, and Agricultural Business.  Students are admitted to this program by several means that offer flexibility to the student to meet the requirements of the degree.  The student may successfully complete an A.A.S. degree program in agriculture, where required courses could transfer in the B.Tech. Dairy Management Program. The student may also enter the program after completing transferable, college level course work in either general education or technology-based courses, or transfer from other accredited institutions.
This may require articulation agreements among other SUNY Institutions and Community Colleges.  A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required.  All bachelor degree programs offered by the College must meet the State University of New York Board of Trustees mandated general education requirements.

Students enrolled in Dairy Management - B.Tech. Curriculum benefit from several facilities available on campus, including a state-of-the-art dairy complex which houses more than 200 milking cows. This facility includes a state-of-the-art milking parlor and a multipurpose classroom hooked up to new dairy cattle management software.  The college also owns more that 500 acres of crop farm to raise feed for the animals.

As part of their B.Tech. programs, students will enroll at Cornell university for one semester during their third year.  The "Cornell Dairy Management Experience" is an articulation agreement between our School and Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.  The one-semester residency will allow the student to take upper level courses in Animal Science and Farm Business Management.
