Equine
Morrisville State College’s equine programs are nationally recognized for providing the industry with skilled and talented graduates. You are able to choose from concentrations in breeding, training, nutrition, and equine management or business, all focusing on the development of specific industry skills. You can also gain experience by joining an equine-related extracurricular activity such as the intercollegiate western or hunt seat riding teams, or the equine judging team.
Academically, you are exposed to the highest standards of the equine industry which allows you to learn in the most meaningful way possible: by practical application. You are granted exposure to over 300 horses on campus, three indoor riding arenas, a 34,000-square-foot breeding and training facility, and the only half-mile standard bred racetrack on a college campus in the nation, as well as other unique facilities which prepare you accurately for a career in the equine industry.
Upon graduation you will be prepared to work in horse breeding, breaking and training, riding instruction, horse sales or stable management. You may also choose to further your education by pursuing the equine studies bachelor degree offered at Morrisville or other long-term goals such as owning your own stable or becoming a veterinarian.
