Why did you choose Morrisville?
“I chose Morrisville because of the programs and fantastic facilities. I loved being able to work hands-on within the first week of classes. The small class sizes are also great! I love how the professors knew me and worked with students individually. I felt welcomed once I stepped on campus.”
What activities have you been involved with on and off campus?
“I was a Resident Assistant and an office manager in one of the residence halls. I also worked in the Admissions Office as a tour guide and student ambassador, and became a peer tutor for three semesters in Biology, Massage Therapy, English, and Psychology courses. I was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and participated in volunteer work for the local community.”
What "fun fact" can you tell us about Morrisville that is not well known?
“Morrisville offers numerous scholarships for new, as well as continuing students and 95% of students receive financial aid!”
What MSC professor has influenced you and why?
“Professor Zbock has been the most influential in my education! She has inspired me to do my best and urged me to follow my dreams, regardless of what they are. Professor Zbock has supported not only myself post-graduation, but also my other classmates and Massage Therapy alumni as well. She is a true leader, and I personally do not know where I would be without her today!”
What was your favorite campus event or activity?
“I enjoyed going to see the comedians, hypnotists and the movies in STUAC theatre and participating in yoga and Zumba classes. There were student activities every day of the week that I often attended with my roommates and friends!”
What are your plans after college or your career goals?
“I graduated from MSC with my Associate’s of Applied Science in Massage Therapy, and then transferred to complete a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Wellness Management! I am now working at Integrative Healing Spa as I continue my education at SUNY Oswego."
What did you do after leaving Morrisville? What are you doing now?
"After graduating from Morrisville, I gained a job at Integrative Healing Spa located in Oswego, NY as a massage therapist with a limited permit until my test results have come in. I am also working on my Bachelor's of Science in Wellness Management at SUNY Oswego simultaneously as a commuter student. I recently also became a Team BeachBody coach!"
How did your education at Morrisville get you to where you are today?
"My education at Morrisville was vital to my massage career and also impacted my further education. Not only did I receive massage skills and techniques beyond state and national requirements, I also learned diverse areas of massage therapy and took additional classes for my Bachelor's which transferred with me to my degree at SUNY Oswego. The hands-on skills were a once in a lifetime opportunity, not only in furthering my future career as a massage therapist, but also in helping determine my other future careers as well!"
What do you like about your profession?
"The real question is what is there not to like about my profession! I absolutely love working as a massage therapist and helping others through the human form of touch. Each day I go into work knowing I am impacting different individuals either mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually. I am able to transfer a form of communication through massage, a unique artwork of which I could not be more thankful for!"
What is your favorite memory of Morrisville?
"My favorite memory of Morrisville is living with three of my best friends our senior year of the Massage Therapy program. We became a close-knit family and practically sisters! Our apartment in Commons I was a memorable home, and without attending Morrisville, I would have never met these girls!"
