Kurtis Strong

2014
Information Technology: Network Administration

Name: Kurtis Strong
Hometown: Horseheads, New York
Major: Information Technology: Network Administration
Graduation Year: 2014

Why Morrisville?

I chose Morrisville State College because it has a wide variety of Information Technology Bachelor degrees. Even though I already know that I want to stay in the Network Administration major, I have learned a lot of new perspectives on different technology.

What activities have you been involved with on and off campus?

I have been involved in many activities on campus such as intramural soccer, attending sporting events and working in the Admission Office. I have also enjoyed bringing a new club to campus called ITC (Information Technology Club), and have spent a lot of time planning the activities that ITC sponsors.

What "fun fact" can you tell us about Morrisville that is not well known?

Morrisville State College was the first college to upgrade to the 802.11n standard of wireless internet, which is currently the fastest wireless internet in the world!

What MSC professor has influenced you and why?

The professor that influenced me the most was Dr. Emad Rahim. Professor Rahim is a professor who gets to know his students and helps them understand how they will use the business techniques learned in his class after they graduate.

What has been your favorite campus event or activity?

My favorite campus activity is the intramural soccer tournament during the fall semester. My roommates and I had a blast playing and meeting new people.

What are your plans after college or your career goals?

My plans after graduating Morrisville involve getting my Masters and Doctorate degree in Computer Security. I wish to become a network administrator for a large company, or become a network architecture/infrastructure designer.
