Why Morrisville?
“ I chose Morrisville because it was exactly what I was looking for. Right when I stepped on campus it felt right to me. The horticulture program and facilities really got my attention and I enjoy the small town feel of Morrisville. The students have a real relationship with their professors and I really feel at home here. ”
What activities have you been involved with on and off campus?
“ I am a Captain of the Women’s Lacrosse Team and have been playing for three years. I spend most of my nights with my lacrosse team either in practice or just hanging out. I am also part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and work in the Admissions Office as a campus tour guide. Off campus I am involved in community service like volunteering at The Boys and Girls Club. ”
What "fun fact" can you tell us about Morrisville that is not well known?
“ You are able to go fishing in Helyar Pond- which is located near the residence halls. It is a catch and release pond but trust me, it is a lot of fun! ”
What MSC professor has influenced you and why?
“ I have four main horticulture Professors and they have all influenced me in many great ways. I am happy to say I cannot pick just one to talk about…Professor Soucy, Professor Hennigan, Professor Khalil and Grant Jackson…they all have put their heart into the horticulture program in different ways. If it wasn’t for every one of them I wouldn’t be where I am today. They are always looking to improve the program, take us on trips and expand the way we learn everyday. ”
What has been your favorite campus event or activity?
“ Being part of the Women’s Lacrosse team. I am able to escape school work and just have some fun. I have met some of the most amazing girls through this experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. ”
What are your plans after college or your career goals?
“ In the future I plan on working for a horticulture company. I want to broaden my horizons and gain more knowledge through working for someone else. Once I have more experience, I would like to open my own Garden Center. ”
