Aquaculture and Aquatic Science

Aquaculture CenterThe Aquaculture and Aquatic Science AAS program is a ThinkPad University curriculum in which the use of laptop computers is integrated into courses. This major provides fundamental training in aquaculture, fisheries biology, limnology and aquatic biology. Students receive a broad-based education by exploring diverse subject matter in aquaculture and aquatic sciences. Practical, hands-on experience is emphasized using an operational aquaculture complex and a wide assortment of laboratory and field equipment.

Many graduates are also transferring into a number of 4-year programs at major universities throughout the United States or pursuing the Renewable Resources BT program offered in our Department.

 

Career Opportunities

A variety of career opportunities are available for graduates of the Aquaculture and Aquatic Science AAS program. Such opportunities include federal, state, and private hatchery technician; aquatic biologist; fisheries technician; and environmental science technician.
