Starting a Small Business: Principles for Success Upon successful completion of this course, students will have:
- Demonstrated a basic understanding of the entrepreneurial process and the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs
- Demonstrated a basic understanding of the business plan, business models, market analysis, pricing, marketing, legal issues, financing, financial statements, cash management, and strategic planning
- Demonstrated an understanding of the various resources (agencies, grant programs, computer hardware and software) available for small business
- Explored the entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial opportunities, and the steps involved in bringing an idea to fruition
Read, discussed, and evaluated case studies highlighting a range of entrepreneurial experiences
- Developed a business plan and a web-site and presented it to the class
Special Needs: If you have a documented condition that requires special needs, please inform us as soon as possible. The College has a variety of options that can be used to assist the student in the learning process.
Please Note: This course will be offered again in Winter (Dec., Jan., Feb. 2008/2009) and again in Summer (June, July, Aug., 2009).
