Wellness Center
The Wellness Center, located next to the Shelia Johnson Design Center attached to Ice Plex II, has been open for one year and mainly targets the faculty and staff of MSC and the surrounding community. However, it is open to students as well.
Our clients (faculty/staff/community members), when they first join, are put through a maximal graded exercise test as well as muscle testing and flexibility testing to see what fitness level they are at. From there, we can best prescribe their exercise program. What's unique about the Wellness Center is that clients’ workouts are designed around their individual needs
It is $50 for the initial testing, which includes your first month, and $30/month afterwards.
Why you should join:
- Guided personal training
- "Judge-free” and fun exercise area
- Free weights and cable weights along with swiss exercise balls and TRX bands
- Access to Bioimpedance Analysis machine (BIA) which measures muscle mass and percentage body fat
The Human Performance & Health Promotion students do their Wellness Center internships at the Wellness Center (135 hours). The personal training is provided by MSC’s own HPHP students as part of their internship course
The Wellness Center is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
