Application & Award Procedures
Application Procedures
Receiving a Financial Aid Award
- Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid as early as possible.
- Students applying for financial aid must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- The FAFSA form simultaneously permits application for the Federal Pell Grant.
- New York State residents must complete a separate application for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), which will be sent by the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (NYSHESC).
- The TAP application may also be submitted separately (after submitting a FAFSA) here: www.tapweb.org/totw.
- Additional federal aid and state aid are also available.
Receiving a Financial Aid Award
- Financial aid award letters will be sent to accepted students who have a FAFSA on file with the financial aid office.
- Financial aid priority is given to students with the greatest need (as determined by the FAFSA).
- The financial aid award letter will list the estimated Pell Grant and TAP awards.
- The college may also offer additional loans or grants.
- The college may recommend that students meet their needs through a Stafford Loan Program for Student Borrowers.
- Students may receive information about the Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) if they are still unable to meet college costs.
