Hinchey named ECAC Mid-Atlantic Defensive Player of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its Division III men’s lacrosse weekly awards, naming Morrisville State College senior goalkeeper, Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) the defensive player of the week for the week ending April 1.

Hinchey put together two strong performances between the pipes to lead Morrisville State to a 2-0 week, registering a total 22 saves to go with a .595 save percentage on the week. He began the week with a seven save performance in a 8-7 victory over Vassar, before following up with a 15-save effort in the 12-8 victory over Keuka.

He is currently ranked second in the NEAC in saves with 86 to date on the season.

The graduate of Kingston High is majoring in technology management at Morrisville State. He is the son of Barbara and Michael Hinchey of Lake Katrine.
