Smith earns NEAC All-Conference softball honors

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2012 Softball North and South Division All-Conference team selections, naming Morrisville State College’s Monique Smith (Bronx, N.Y.) to its North Division Second Team.

Smith appeared in all 28 games for Morrisville State at center field, starting 26. In 82 plate appearances, she posted 27 hits for a .329 batting average, batted in 13 runs, while crossing home a team high 20 times. A threat while on base, she was second on the team in stolen bases registered (11), and also ranked 13th overall in the conference in the same category.

In the field, she added 31 put outs to her statistics on the season.

The junior is a graduate of Lincoln High and is majoring in liberal arts and science: humanities and social science at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Barbara Smith of Bronx.
