Parks, Prior named Mustang Athletes of the Week

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College athletic department has named Akiella Parks (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Jordan Parks (Cortland, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 17.

Parks posted her first collegiate double-double earlier in the week, netting 12 points and snagging 10 rebounds in the loss to Cobleskill. She added seven points and nine boards as the Mustangs wrapped up the season Saturday at SUNYIT, to average 9.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. 

The graduate of Arlington High is majoring in criminal justice at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Yvonne and Kenneth Parks of Poughkeepsie. 

Prior earns Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season, following his 21 point performance in the season finale against SUNYIT. Prior came off the bench to post 21 points, nailing 7-of-8 from long range, as he took over the top spot in the record books for the most 3’s recorded in a single game. 

A graduate of Cortland High, Prior is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State. He is the son of Purdy and Eric Prior of Cortland.
