Morrisville State to induct six into Athletic Wall of Fame

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.­ – On Friday, June 8, Morrisville State College will induct six into its Athletic Wall of Fame, at the annual “Night of Champions” reception held at Madison Hall on the Morrisville State campus.

Included in this year’s inductions are Bill Henggler, a three-sport student-athlete at Morrisville State from 1948 to 1950; Frank Baumgardner, captain of the Mustangs first NJCAA National Championship ice hockey team; Alex Lewis, former NJCAA Northeast Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2001 and current linebacker with the Detroit Lions; Custavious Patterson, quarterback for the conference champion football squad in 1999; Paul Rose, former men’s lacrosse coach; and Jim Hall, former wrestling coach.

Tickets for the event may be purchased at the door or at the Morrisville State Alumni Office for $15 each. Discounted tickets for children under 12 are also available for purchase. Campus tours are available starting at 5 p.m. from the college’s newly renovated Recreation Center. Those interested should contact the athletic office to secure a time slot.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
