Morrisville State men's soccer wins third straight

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College men’s soccer team won their third straight contest, topping host Potsdam State 2-1 Saturday afternoon in Potsdam.

Shaman Mason (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) recorded both goals for the Mustangs, the first at 14:47 and the second at 16:08, giving Morrisville State their first SUNYAC win. Andrew Ketchum (Chili, NY/Churchville-Chili) and Segun Ajiboye (Staten Island, NY/Port Richmond) each recorded the assists.

Joe Chase was the lone goal scorer for the Bears, putting Potsdam on the scoreboard at the 48:35 mark.

Anthony Woods (North Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) recorded the win in net for Morrisville State, saving three.

Morrisville State returns to the field on Wednesday against Keuka College. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Lemery Field in Morrisville.

Morrisville State enters its second year as a provisional member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III in 2007. Upon successful completion of the provisional period, Morrisville State will be a candidate for full accreditation as a member of the NCAA.

Morrisville State College offers more than 70 bachelor and associate degrees. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus also offers programs in business, technologies, liberal arts/education transfer, and nursing to Chenango County area residents and employers.
