Morrisville State College's Norwich Campus to Host Informational Fair to Promote Healthy Living

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– Morrisville State College’s Norwich Campus will host an informational fair to promote healthy living on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Norwich Campus, 20 Conkey Avenue, Norwich, next to the Eaton Center.

During the event, which is free and open to the public, local professionals will be providing free information to help people make healthy choices.

Among the information that will be available is: adult immunizations, nutrition, massage therapy, HPV, family planning, tobacco cessation, breast health, HIV, AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.

HIV testing, with incentives for those taking a rapid HIV test provided by Project Wave N.Y., will also be offered. The free, anonymous HIV testing is being provided by the New York State Department of Health.

The fair is a project of the HIV Care Network, whose members include: the Morrisville State College’s Norwich Campus, Chenango County Health Department, Chenango Health Network, Planned Parenthood of South Central N.Y., and the Southern Tier AIDS Program.

Morrisville State College offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college was the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.

The Norwich Campus also offers a range of non-credit/community education courses, customized training, and conference services.
