Second half pushes St. Elizabeth past Morrisville State women

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Host College of St. Elizabeth went on a 21-9 run over a seven minute span increasing their lead to 18 en route to the 74-53 decision over Morrisville State College women’s basketball Saturday afternoon in Morristown, NJ.

Katrina Brown (Queens, NY) paced Morrisville State with 25 points, adding five rebounds, two assists and four steals to her tallies, as teammate Tekesha Hanson (Queens, NY) added 11 points and nine boards to the Mustang efforts. Irena Longworth (Galway, NY) chipped in nine points and six steals.

Three netted double figures for St. Elizabeth, led by Sarah Kozlowski with 19 points and nine boards, while Sabrina Jarmolinso added 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Maesoon Deeb added 14 points and nine boards for the Eagles in the win.

Morrisville State trailed 27-32 at the half, before St. Elizabeth shot 60 percent from the floor, hitting 15-of-25 shots, in the second half.

The Mustangs (3-19) return to the floor Monday night, hosting rival Cazenovia College at 6 p.m. in the STUAC gymnasium.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
