Campus MessagesOffice of the President
Dear Morrisville State College Community,
The weather and the calendar agree—fall is here! Hard to believe, but soon we'll be at the semester's half-way point.
I want to congratulate our faculty, staff and students for representing MSC and showcasing an array of food samples during New York Farm Day held in Washington DC on Sept. 12, an annual event which boasts New York state agricultural products. The event, sponsored by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, attracted approximately 700 federal officials, guests, area restaurant operators and media. Attending from Morrisville State College were: Christopher Nyberg, dean of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Rebecca Dowsland, executive chef Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) Dining Services; Meredith Beardsley of Interlaken and Cora Mason of Silver Springs. Beardsley and Mason are both students in the college’s agricultural business development bachelor degree program and active participants in Morrisville Fresh LLC which produced some of the food served during the event.
Strategic planning for Morrisville’s future is well under way and I encourage you to participate in the online blackboard discussion forums. It is a unique way to host community-wide conversations about aspects of MSC’s mission and vision. To get to the forums: log-on via the blackboard link at the bottom of www.morrisville.edu. Enter your campus user name and password. On the far right of the screen under ‘my courses’ you will see ‘2012 Strategic Planning forums’, click and on the next screen on the far left click ‘discussions’ to get to the discussion threads.
Fall is a time of increasing activity on campus:

From the classroom to the playing fields, it's a busy time of year. Please join me in wishing our students luck with their studies and best wishes to our student-athletes as well!
