Course DescriptionCritical Information Literacy
Designed to cultivate information savvy students and citizens, this course will help students develop lifelong skills to become confident and independent consumers and creators of information. Students will learn how to formulate their information needs, and how to locate, evaluate, and effectively use information. Other topics will include identifying and avoiding plagiarism, document styles, searching for and retrieving information in both library and open web environments, and becoming conscientious participants in information creation and dissemination in a variety of information sharing venues. 1 credit (5 weeks) fall/spring semester
