Equine Science & Management A.A.S. :: Required Equipment

The following is a list of required equipment for the fall semester.

• Riding Helmet with harness (Current ASTM F-1163-00/SEI Certified)
• Boots for riding and barn work (hard soled, over the ankle, and low heeled – such as work boots, paddock boots, English riding boots or low heeled western boots). No steel-toed shoes or boots.
• Grooming Kit* comprised of:
  • Hard Brush
  • Soft Brush
  • Rubber Curry
  • Pulling Comb
  • Hoof Pick
  • Sweat Scraper
  • Stable Towel
  • Large Sponge
  • 6-8’ Cotton Lead Rope
  • Carry Caddy/Bag
  • Hunter Green or Black Polo Wraps

*These items are available for purchase at the campus store.

Students should have all of these items for the first Equitation I Lab and Stable Management Lab. Sophomores will be required to have certain pieces of equipment depending on discipline.
