Course Description

Equine Instruction Methodology

A study of effective teaching techniques relating to equine riding and driving courses with consideration of the physical and psychological factors involved. Appropriate class preparation, teaching methods and student evaluation will be covered. Opportunities for observation, assisting and teaching experience. Prerequisite: Equine major with at least 60 credit hours 1 credit (1 lecture hour, 2 laboratory hours), fall semester

Admissions Requirements

This program is a ThinkPad University curriculum in which the use of laptop computers is integrated into courses.

Students admitted into this upper–division baccalaureate program must possess an associate in applied science (A.A.S.) or an associate in science (A.S.) in equine science, animal science or agricultural science with specialization in equine or animal science.

A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required in addition to demonstrated competency in horsemanship skills by examination where applicable.
