What activities have you been involved with on and off campus?

"After my first semester I joined IFSEA (International Food Service Executives Association.) Through IFSEA I was able to attend their International Conference in Orlando, Florida. I attended several seminars held by IFSEA leaders from around the world and was able to hear their professional advice about the industry. I also received relevant career training. The IFSEA conference allowed me to grow as a young professional and to network to gain professional references in the industry. I am also fortunate to have received several academic scholarships through IFSEA."

Course Description

Hotel Operations

This course presents a systematic approach to front office procedures by detailing the flow of business through a hotel, from the reservations process to checkout and settlement. The course examines the various elements of effective front office management, paying particular attention to the planning and evaluation of operations and to human resource management. Front office procedures and management are placed within the context of the overall operation of a hotel. Certification by the American Hotel/Motel Association. 3 credits (3 lecture hours), spring semester

Admissions Requirements

A high school average of 80 or greater, 3 units of Regents math or equivalent and minimum SAT scores of 500 in math and 450 in verbal. Transfer students must have a GPA of 2.75, 3 units of Regents math or college math equivalents, and a basic literacy with computers.

Morrisville State College has a rolling admission policy; notification of acceptance begins November 1. SAT or ACT exams are recommended, and an on–campus interview is encouraged.
