Information Technology: Electronic Marketing and Publishing B.Tech.


Every business needs to promote itself in order to establish a customer base and turn a profit. Reaching out to their market in the most efficient and productive way possible. There are many avenues to do this, including traditional print methodologies. Businesses are increasingly taking advantage of electronic means of reaching their audience, including e-mail, the Web, faxes, CD-ROMs, and other technologies. Electronic marketing puts information directly in front of current and potential customers.

People who have a combination of information technology skills and creativity are desperately needed to create publications, produce website content, and create exciting and dynamic graphics and multimedia to help businesses market their products and services. At Morrisville State College, students will learn how to effectively create electronic marketing materials. Students will gain skills in electronic photography, digital image manipulation, Web publishing, graphics creation, animation, video production, and multimedia development.

Admissions Requirements

New students: 3 units of Regents math (or equivalent), high school average of 80 or better. SAT: Math 500, Verbal 450.

Transfers: 3 units of Regents math (or equivalent college math), demonstration of basic computer literacy, GPA of 2.5 or better.

Morrisville State College has a rolling admission policy; notification of acceptance begins November 1. SAT or ACT exams are recommended, and an on–campus interview is encouraged.
