Medical Office Administration, A.A.S. :: Home

The Medical Office Administration program is designed to give students training in the latest office equipment and provide the skill set necessary to succeed in today's medical office environments. To supplement the regular program of study, special features emphasize an extensive knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding and billing, medical transcription, computer software applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and the opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge in managing the front end of a medical office.

Scholarship opportunities also exist for Medical Office Administration students. Scholarships can provide some financial assistance to students who still have one full-time semester left in the program and have demonstrated their dedication to their college education.


Admission Requirements

Required: minimum high school average of C. If student had a high school General Biology grade of less than a C, the student will be advised to take BIOL 105 during their first year. Then, during the second year, the student will be required to take BIOL 150, along with BIOL 150L.
Desired: 1 unit each of defined math and science or business major.
