Office Administration - Office Management A.A.S.
Each spring, students in their last year of study in the Office Administration degree/certificate programs are required to participate in Portfolio Day. As students work through their classes (upon arriving on campus their first semester), they are made aware of this event and are urged to begin saving their work to display in a portfolio during Portfolio Day. The day consists of a variety of administrators (both from on campus offices or from local companies) coming to campus to panel interview students in a mock interview fashion. Prior to Portfolio Day, students receive training in the following interview areas:
- Preparing a resume
- Designing a portfolio
- Dressing appropriately for an interview
- Answering questions typically asked in the interview
The mock interviews take approximately 20 minutes, during which students receive important/immediate feedback from the panel members who interviewed them. This is an experience that really prepares students for that "first real interview" they'll have upon graduating. Students are well prepared for this day and come to appreciate all the hard work and effort they put into it. They leave with a sound Portfolio which displays their best work.
Employers think this event is unique at Morrisville and has separated our students from other prospective candidates applying for the same jobs. For more information on Portfolio Day,contact the Office Administration program.
