Operating principles and nomenclature of internal combustion engines used as automotive power plants. Laboratory emphasis is on technician level analysis and repair of mechanical components. 3 credits (2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours)

Admissions Requirements

A high school graduate entering the Automotive Technology A.A.S. program must have a minimum high school average in the C to C+ range and have completed New York State Math A or the equivalent. Additional mathematics and science are desired. Vocational training is not a requirement.

Morrisville State College has a rolling admission policy; notification of acceptance begins November 1. SAT or ACT exams are recommended, and an on–campus interview is encouraged.
