Automotive Technology (ASSET) :: Home

Morrisville State College offers FORD ASSET in its menu of automotive offerings. This program, sponsored by Ford Motor Company, allows students to earn an associate degree while being involved in a cooperative education experience with a participating dealership.

Through the program, students interview with a dealer and get sponsored then simultaneously enroll in the ASSET program at Morrisville. Students take regular college classes at the college then work over the Christmas break at the dealership, doing meaningful paid work. Students return for a second semester at the college then work again at the dealership during summer break. The process is repeated during the second year.

In classes, students learn automotive subjects using Ford supplied vehicles and components. Much of the training is Ford specific, and upon graduation, students will be Ford certified in many subject areas and also earn an A.A.S. degree in Automotive Technology.

Admission Requirements

A high school graduate entering the Automotive Technology A.A.S. program must have a minimum high school average in the C to C+ range and must have completed New York State Math A or the equivalent. Additional mathematics and science are desired. Vocational training is not a requirement.

Morrisville State College has a rolling admission policy; notification of acceptance begins November 1. SAT or ACT exams are recommended, and an on–campus interview is encouraged.
