Computer Applications I

A survey of equipment and programs used in common computer systems. Topics include internal storage, input/output devices, operating systems, popular applications packages. Current and future trends will be discussed in reference to networks, mainframe and microcomputers. (Note: This course may be challenged with a formal testout process. Admissions Requirements

New students: 3 units of Regents math (or equivalent), high school average of 80 or better. SAT: Math 500, Verbal 450.

Transfers: 3 units of Regents math (or equivalent college math), demonstration of basic computer literacy, GPA of 2.5 or better.

Morrisville State College has a rolling admission policy; notification of acceptance begins November 1. SAT or ACT exams are recommended, and an on–campus interview is encouraged.
