Design and Drafting Technology A.A.S. :: Home
The Design and Drafting Technology, Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), degree prepares graduates to enter industry and apply a basic knowledge of mathematics and science to work involving mechanical component design, computer-aided-drafting (CAD), and manufacturing operations. Areas of study in the curriculum range from conceptual layout to analysis of mechanical systems.
A student's classroom activities and responsibilities involve a wide range of technical operations related to the design process, including 2D drafting and 3D modeling, tolerancing and design for manufacture, manufacturing processes, CNC programming and machining, materials testing, and mechanical design. In addition, the curriculum has several core courses in the humanities, social sciences, and physical sciences. Oral, technical writing, reading, and computer skills are stressed throughout the program, preparing graduates to succeed in the modern technical work environment. Design and Drafting Technology is a
ThinkPad curriculum.
