Course Description

Introduction to Psychology

An introduction to the scientific study of behavior, mental processes, and the influences upon them. The course covers major theories and findings in psychology, including learning, cognition, abnormal psychology, and others. 3 credits (3 lecture hours), fall or spring semester These credits count toward the Social Sciences (list C) requirements for graduation. This course satisfies SUNY General Education Requirements for “Social Sciences”.

Admissions Requirements

Students wishing to enter this program must meet the following requirements:
Minimum SAT scores of 500 in math and 450 in critical reading.

Desired: Math through pre-calculus and general chemistry.
