Course Description
Cancer Biology and Rel. TopicsBIOL 200 - CANCER BIOLOGY AND RELATED TOPICS Biology of cancer using current knowledge from population, macroscopic, microscopic and molecular perspectives. Topics include epidemiology, heredity, causation, normal/neoplactic cell growth and differentiation, genetic alterations in transformed cells, regulation of cell-cycle and signal transduction, cancer diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Prerequisite: C- grade or better in the lecture and lab of a college-level biology course with a lab. 2 credits (2 lecture hours), spring semester. Theses credits count towards the Math and/or Science (List B) requirements for graduation.
