The Chemistry curriculum at Morrisville State College can be the first step to a variety of opportunities. This program of study includes a solid emphasis in Chemistry, as well as Mathematics and Physics, and the flexibility to pursue other academic interests such as Biology, Computer Science and Technical Writing.

A solid background in the chemical sciences opens doors to many careers in science, engineering, materials, forensics, medicine and other health-related fields, chemical sales, marketing, information management, consumer product development, environmental science, and hazardous waste management.

While graduates may find work in fields such as pharmaceuticals, foods, environmental analysis polymers, petrochemicals, paints, photographics, textiles and as research assistants, many choose to transfer into baccalaureate degree programs where they have a record of exceptional achievement.

Admission Requirements

A high school graduate entering the Chemistry concentration must have a minimum high school average in the B range, 3 units of defined math, and 1 unit of chemistry. An additional unit of defined math, precalculus, biology, and physics is desired.

Morrisville State College has a rolling admission policy; notification of acceptance begins November 1. SAT or ACT exams are recommended, and an on-campus interview is encouraged.
