Course Description

General Physics II

Concepts of heat, work, internal energy, heat transfer, and the first and second laws of thermodynamics. Simple harmonic motion, wave motion, harmonic waves, and superposition. Topics in electromagnetism. Properties of light include reflection, refraction, interference, diffraction, polarization, the electromagnetic spectrum, and optical instruments. Prerequisite: PHYS 127 or permission of instructor 4 credits (3 lecture hours, 2 laboratory hours), spring semester This course satisfies SUNY General Education Requirements for “Natural Sciences”. These credits count toward the Math and/or Science (List B) requirements for graduation.
