Most positions in Physics require the completion of a bachelor or advanced degree. A student who completes the Physics program at Morrisville State College with a good record can expect to transfer successfully to many baccalaureate degree programs. The available electives allow one to tailor a program and match a specific college if desired, or move toward areas of engineering, environmental science, or computers. The basic courses are compatible with all baccalaureate programs in physics.

Career opportunities exist in drug and pharmaceutical firms, chemical manufacturers, research facilities, environmental and analytical labs. A bachelor degree or advanced degree will allow a student to go into pure research, industrial applications, research and development, or a management career in the technical industries. There are also opportunities for teaching, and a student can satisfy requirements for entrance into a pre-law, pre-med, or pre-dental program.

Minimum high school average of B- (at least a 80), four years of high school math (through New York State Math B or algebra, trigonometry and geometry) with at least a 75 and three years of science. Pre-calculus and physics highly desired.
