Massage Therapy A.A.S. :: Home
Demand continues to grow for highly skilled, confident massage professionals. Longer and more comprehensive training programs are becoming the standard
throughout the country. Morrisville State College offers you the opportunity to begin your future
as a massage therapist in one of the nation’s fastest–growing allied health professions.
These professionals provide services through the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for
the prevention, remediation, and treatment of physical problems and the promotion of personal
well–being. Massage therapists work to enhance a person’s sense of well–being, reduce the
physical and mental effects of stress, prevent disease and restore health.
Students enrolled in this program will take courses in liberal arts and sciences and mathematics,
as well as massage therapy. To become a licensed massage therapist, students must successfully complete the New York State Massage Therapy Exam. Following the successful
completion of this exam, Morrisville State College graduates can become independent allied health care
professionals in the massage therapy field.
Students will spend a portion of the last semester (MAST 204) in Morrisville State College’s
on–campus massage clinic. This hands–on education gives students the experience they will need
to enter the massage profession with the confidence necessary to succeed.
Admission Requirements
Students entering the Massage Therapy A.A.S. program must have a minimum high school average of C or

additional year of both science and mathematics. Students must also demonstrate that they have received a massage from a licensed massage
therapist within one year prior to enrollment.
Transfer students and students who are re–entering the academic world after a long absence or
