Clinical Experience

Your RN clinical base will grow in depth and breadth with your Morrisville campus lab and clinical experiences. 

In your first semester you’ll study health assessment, guided by our expert nurse practitioner faculty. You'll gain expertise in cultural assessment and be well prepared for your two clinical courses. 

In Public, Community and Family Health Nursing, you’ll be involved in issues of public and environmental safetycommunity level work on child and adult overweight and obesity, and work with a family on primary prevention. You'll also participate in public health oversight and policy at the county level. 

In your Clinical Practicum, you'll pull all of your bachelor's level work together in planning and carrying out your 135 hour clinical capstone project in a population of your choice, working with a team you select, to improve a patient safety or quality care issue or need. At the end of your project, you'll formally present your findings to your stakeholders to extend the value of your hard work.

Clinical Site Transportation
All students must provide their own transportation to clinical sites which include acute care facilities and community health assignments.



Uniforms:
The BS Nursing uniform is a MSC green, logo polo shirt from the Campus store, worn with khaki-colored skirt or pants. Shoes should be appropriate for the assignment. A MSC photo name badge is required.

Admissions Requirements

Prospective students applying for admission to the baccalaureate degree program have completed or anticipate completing the final semester of their associate degree nursing program prior to applying to Morrisville State College.
