The Morrisville State College production greenhouse is used by Horticulture Program students to grow a wide variety of plants including bedding plants, hanging baskets, and vegetables. Students gain hands on, real world experience related to plant growth and care, as well as selling and business aspects of the horticulture industry. Student-grown plants are sold near the end of the year in a large plant sale, managed by horticulture students, which benefits the Horticulture Institute..
The production greenhouse features high-tech equipment, including automated fertilization, watering, and shading systems.
The Morrisville State College Horticulture Program prepares students to begin satisfying and rewarding careers in ornamental horticulture and related fields. The horticulture program includes associate degree concentrations in landscape development, greenhouse production, and floral design, or a bachelor degree in Horticulture Business Management.
State-of-the-art facilities include modern greenhouses, a complete landscape design studio, a student lounge, conference rooms, offices, and four specialty classrooms.
