Life after Returning to Campus

Student Activities

Will there be events on campus? What procedures must be followed?

Non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason (e.g. programs, parties, dances, concerts, celebrations or other social events) are canceled or postponed at this time.

Individuals will limit outdoor recreational activities to non-contact and avoid activities where they come in close contact with other people.

Our brand-new outdoor athletic courts, which include basketball courts, beach volleyball courts and horseshoe pits, are available for student use.

A mix of student programming will be offered face-to-face in ways that allow for small groups with social distancing, in online and remote formats, and outdoors using large spaces. To reduce density and eliminate larger gatherings, campus programming will be hosted in a remote format as often as is sensible.

Athletics

Will athletics contests be held in the fall?

Due to the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and following a unanimous vote by the Presidents Councils of both the Empire 8 Conference and the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), SUNY Morrisville will not participate in intercollegiate athletic competition this upcoming fall semester in the sports of men's and women's cross country, football, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Presidents, in consultation with the SUNYAC Board of Directors, also suspended fall sports competition while delaying winter conference and non-conference schedules until Jan. 1, 2021. SUNY Morrisville holds associate membership in the SUNYAC for the sports of field hockey and men’s ice hockey.

The Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL), with whom SUNY Morrisville holds membership in the sport of women's ice hockey, also suspended conference and non-conference competition until Jan. 1, 2021.
