Ryan Quinn, M.S., joined SUNY Morrisville an Assistant Professor of Renewable Energy in 2019. He holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), a Bachelor of Technology from SUNY Morrisville, and a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Geneseo. Quinn is a veteran of the solar industry, where he designed, developed, installed and operated many megawatts of solar photovoltaic systems. As a graduate student, he conducted research in life cycle assessment for forest-based bioenergy systems, and renewable energy development, and continues research in these fields today. Quinn currently teaches electrical theory, renewable energy resources, and solar photovoltaic systems, and is developing new coursework in heat pump systems (geothermal and air-source), energy storage, and smart grid systems. Quinn’s interests chiefly lie in the development of technology and systems that accelerate the transition towards cleaner, renewable energy systems.
