Let Morrisville give you a strong core.

Fitness is a lifelong pursuit, and a SUNY Morrisville education will prepare you for all the twists and turns that come with a lifetime of work in fitness and health.

The SUNY Morrisville Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program in exercise science gets you in great shape for careers in general fitness and corporate wellness facilities, and for some cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation positions.

Our unique program features two outstanding opportunities. First, you will follow a curriculum that includes specialized courses in kinesiology, cardiopulmonary assessment and exercise physiology. You then will fulfill an internship in the college’s Wellness Center, where you will work with faculty, staff and local residents to develop personalized fitness plans and supervise their exercise regimens.

A second required internship — the senior capstone course — places you in the day-to-day operations of an approved off-campus site, providing further real-world, hands-on experience. Past locations have included corporate fitness centers, wellness clinics, community-based health clubs, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, orthopedic practices, surgical environments, and affiliated universities.

Our Exercise Science Exercise Laboratory also gives you access to a full range of the latest fitness and analysis equipment in a live exercise environment.

If you plan to attend graduate school after earning your bachelor’s degree, you’ll be prepared to study elsewhere to become a physician assistant, physical therapist, athletic strength and training coach, or other advanced health-related professional.
