Travel & Tourism: Hospitality Management A.A.S.

Travel and Tourism Student

Going places.

As a student in the SUNY Morrisville Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program in travel & tourism: hospitality management, the world is your classroom.

Learning from instructors who have extensive professional experience, your coursework in hospitality sales and marketing, travel agency operations, and tourism and geography will prepare you to enter many facets of this global industry.

You also will work and learn in our on-campus, full-service travel agency that features live SABRE, the computerized reservation system used to book flights on airlines by travel agents, tour operators and cruise lines. Through the agency’s affiliation with BTI The Travel Consultants, based out of Syracuse, New York, you’ll have the opportunity to plan trips for actual customers as you develop your understanding of the business and technology of the tourism industry.

A required summer hospitality co-op will provide further hands-on experience, allowing you to apply what you have learned while potentially leading to a full-time position after you graduate.

With your degree, you also will be well prepared for entry-level management positions within the worldwide travel and hospitality industry.

If you decide to take on further study, one option is Morrisville’s Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree program in resort & recreation service management.

While earning your degree, you also will have the opportunity to be involved with various organizations, including the International Food Service Executives Association.
