Visiting Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse used a triple offensive threat to hand host College of St. Elizabeth a 19-6 conference loss Saturday afternoon in Morristown. With the win, Morrisville State improves to 2-5 overall, collecting their first win in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action, while the Screaming Eagles drop to 4-2 overall, 0-1 in NEAC play.
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s lacrosse team dropped their 2013 home opener on Thursday afternoon to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC)   rival Morrisville State College by a 13-4 margin at Cobleskill’s Soccer/Lax Complex. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-3 overall on the season including a 0-2 mark in league action while the Mustangs improve to 2-5 overall with a 2-1 mark in NEAC play.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has named hunt seat equine rider, Amanda Varall (Bohemia, N.Y.) and men’s lacrosse goalkeeper Chris Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 30. Varall claimed the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone II Region 3 Regional Title in the walk trot canter class on Saturday at Skidmore College, topping a competitive field of 14.
The current weather system moving through Central New York has forced some spring athletics schedules to change. Contests scheduled for Wednesday, April 3 have been rescheduled as follows: - Softball at Cazenovia College has been moved back to Wednesday, April 10 at 3 p.m. - Men's lacrosse at SUNY Cobleskill has been moved back to Thursday, April 4 at 4 p.m.
The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team completed the season as the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone II Region 3 Reserve Regional Champion on Saturday, at the Van Lennep Riding Center at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Visiting Keuka College tallied five unanswered goals in the third period, while holding the Mustangs scoreless, as they collected a 14-9 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host Morrisville State College men’s lacrosse Saturday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville. The Mustangs fall to 1-5 overall on the season, including 1-1 in conference play. The loss was the first for Morrisville State in conference play in the NEAC, ending the streak at 21-1.  The win lifts Keuka to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in NEAC action.
The Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team dropped their second straight contest in the north country, falling 18-5 to non-conference host Potsdam Saturday afternoon in Potsdam. With the loss, Morrisville State drops to 1-5 overall. Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.) led Morrisville State with three goals, while Megan Carlin (Pawling, N.Y.) added two others. Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, Ontario) and Jessica Young (Clifton Park, N.Y.) each collected assists, registering two and one, respectively.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has named Jessica Young (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Chris Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 24. Young, attack for the women’s lacrosse team, posted a collegiate best six goals and three assists in the 18-12 win over Misericordia last week. Her six scores came on six shots, while adding two ground balls and three draw controls to her tallies on the day.
The Morrisville State College women’s softball team dropped two  Friday evening, falling 8-0 and 14-1 in double header action on the road at Elmira College. The loss drops the Mustangs to 0-6 overall on the season. In the first of the day’s action, Eileen Farrell (Johnsonville, N.Y.) recorded the lone hit as Morrisville State dropped the 8-0 decision in six innings. Farrell’s hit came in the sixth inning on a single that left her on base as Elmira collected four additional runs in the bottom of the inning for the win.

The loss drops the Mustangs to 1-4 overall, while Canton improves to 4-3. Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.) and Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, Ontario) each posted four goals to lead the Morrisville State efforts, while Megan Carlin (Pawling, N.Y.) added three tallies, and Kolleen Brown (Willet, N.Y.) one.
