Tweh Johnson, from Staten Island, is a cannabis studies student completing his 15-credit internship with SUNY Morrisville’s Four Seasons Farm and Spader Greenhouse. Tweh is assisting with growing, harvesting, financial management and research of vegetables, herbs, and hemp operations. He currently works at the college’s aquaponics, hydroponics and fish hatchery operations.

Emma will complete a 12-week formal internship this summer with Farm Credit East in Burrville, New York.
In her position, Emma will work closely with many different offices within Farm Credit East, learning about financial services, crop insurance, appraisals and agricultural lending.

Courtney will complete a 12-week, four-credit internship with Ditlevsdal Bison Farm in Morud, Denmark, which includes learning about farm’s diverse agricultural businesses that includes the Bison, a restaurant, agritourism, and bed and breakfast.
She will specifically learn about international trade, farm management and have the opportunity to travel.

Carrie will complete her final 15-week internship with Madison-Oneida BOCES in Verona, New York, as a teaching assistant for the equine and animal science program.
In her position, Carrie will work with junior and senior high school students from local school districts. She will assist the main instructors with developing and implementing barn and classroom lesson plans and also assist with grading and supervising lab activities.

Janet will complete her final 15-week internship at Clarkesfield Dairy Farm in New Zealand! The farm has 750 cows milked through a 50-cow bail rotary with cup removers, pro-track and automatic teat sprayer.
Her internship includes milking, setting up break fences in the paddocks and bringing cows to and from the cowshed. She will also assist with animal health, treating mastitis and potentially lame cows, weed control and some tractor work.

Cuyler is completing a 15-credit internship with Farm Credit East, Claverack, New York branch.
In his position, Cuyler is learning about crop insurance, financial services, appraisals and agricultural lending.
Cuyler will graduate with his bachelor’s degree in agricultural business development in September 2022. His future plans are to work as an agronomy salesperson or crop insurance agent.

Brenna will complete a 15-credit internship with Trinity Valley Dairy in East Homer, New York.
Working closely with the processing team, she will learn food safety and how to make cheese curds and different flavors of milk.
Brenna will graduate with her bachelor's degree in agricultural business development in December 2022. Her future plans are to open an on-farm processing plant back on her home farm in Marathon, New York.

My professors were helpful, knowledgeable, and caring. The online classes were great because of the quality and flexibility they provided. There was so much support available for me whenever I needed it.
SUNY Morrisville Aquaculture Center
Students in Associate Professor Phil Hofmeyer’s classes are hands-in creating clear energy systems on campus and in the community. This ground-mounted solar array at our Aquaculture Center will be used for educational purposes and to offset electricity costs. Three classes were involved in the project from initial concept to design and installation.
