General

We know the past 13 months have been challenging for our students, especially when it comes to your mental health. The pandemic has exacerbated mental health struggles among young adults, with 1 in 4 people aged 18-24 contemplating suicide in 2020 as compared to 1 in 10 in 2018. This is a tragic statistic that SUNY is taking seriously and working to address. It is more critical than ever to provide mental health supports to our students — and you can be part of the solution.
Earth Day 2021 and 1915 In 1970, then Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin worked to establish the first Earth Day, both as a celebration of and a commitment to our precious planet Earth. Since that time, each April 22 has offered an opportunity for organizations and individuals everywhere to review and renew commitments to preserve the many natural gifts bestowed by our planet.  SUNY Morrisville is again doing its part to help the environment and to celebrate Earth Day, today, April 22.

Dear Mustangs, I want to thank you all for your efforts throughout the past year. It has been a challenging time like no other we have ever experienced and we could not have persevered without you. Through these countless challenges, we continue to prove that we are #MustangStrong. Today, I also am proud to announce that SUNY Morrisville is All In for the Fall 2021 semester.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — SUNY Morrisville students will soon be able to pick up dairy and other perishable items through the campus food pantry system, thanks to a State University of New York (SUNY) grant to purchase refrigeration units.  The college is among 17 SUNY schools to receive the grant, announced by SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras as part of a larger effort to ensure students on campuses have access to refrigerated items as food insecurity grows across the nation.
The SUNY Morrisville 2021 Commencement will be held virtually on Saturday, May 22. We recognize that many students, faculty, staff and families were hoping for an in-person Commencement ceremony and we regret that this will not be possible this spring. We have partnered with a company specializing in virtual ceremonies so that students will have the opportunity to contribute messages, photos and videos to customize the ceremony. These added elements are intended to make the ceremony as meaningful as possible for graduates.

Faculty, staff and students prepared the car of Johnson City police officer David “DW” Smith, who was killed in the line of duty in March 2014.
