Morrisville State stunned by Wilson, Phoenix claim 1-0 victory

CHAMBERSBURG, PA – Visiting Morrisville State College field hockey was stunned Sunday afternoon by host Wilson College, as the Phoenix claimed the 1-0 non-conference victory with a last minute goal in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Emily Cecere tallied the game winner with 3:33 to go for Wilson on a penalty corner opportunity.

Morrisville State’s Kelsey Pellegrino (Cicero, NY) had four saves in the loss.

Wilson held the Mustangs to just one shot in the second half, six for the contest, as they had 13.

Morrisville State (1-2) returns to the field Wednesday, hosting Wells College at 4 p.m. on Drake Field.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
