Roberts signs tryout agreement with Rome Frenzy

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Former Morrisville State College defenseman, Kyle Roberts (Whitesboro, NY) signed a tryout agreement on September 8th with the Rome Frenzy of the Federal Hockey League (FHL).

In 67 games, Roberts posted 17 points on five goals and 12 assists over the course of his three-year career with the Mustangs. In 2010, his defensive efforts assisted Morrisville State in reaching the 2010 SUNYAC semi-finals for the first time following the transition to the NCAA, Division III.

The newly established FHL has six teams located throughout the Northeast in New York, Connecticut and Canada. Roberts is expected to join the club for their preseason camp at the end of September.

A graduate of Whitesboro High, Roberts is working towards the completion of his bachelor’s degree in renewable resources technology at Morrisville. He is the son of Debbie and Gary Roberts of Whitesboro.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
