Morrisville State volleyball collects win on day two of NEAC Pool Play

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– The Morrisville State volleyball team split the day’s action, collecting a 3-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill and falling 3-0 to rival Cazenovia.

Cazenovia College took the first match 25-17, 26-24 and 25-16 as Nicole Wright (Dryden, NY) tallied five defensive digs and six kills in the Mustang’s efforts. Deanna Zbikowski (North Syracuse, NY) had 19 assists and two defensive digs. Devan Hirst (Cobleskill, NY) tallied 10 defensive digs.

In their second match of day, the Mustangs captured the 25-21, 25-23 and 25-20 win over SUNY Cobleskill. Zbikowski had 31 assists, two digs and one kill. Wright added 15 kills, three defensive digs and two assists and Angelina Ciaschi (Ithaca, NY) had 11 kills and nine defensive digs. Hirst had 13 defensive digs and one assist.

Morrisville State drops to 2-11 overall (1-3 in NEAC action). The team returns to the court to face Hamilton College in the John W. Stewart Activities Center (STUAC) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered to be one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative, the college recently became the first in the nation to comprehensively replace landlines in residence halls with individual cellular phones. Morrisville State College was also chosen as one of the top five colleges in the nation for campus activities by Campus Activities magazine.

The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
