Penn State Berks women’s soccer shut out Morrisville State 3-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y.– The Penn State Berks Nittany Lions shut out the Morrisville State Mustangs 3-0 today in Morrisville.

With five minutes remaining in the first half, Brie Arnold (La Plata, MD) scored the Nittany Lions’ first goal unassisted.

Nineteen minutes into the second half, Alexa Shumate (Harleysville, PA) scored the second unassisted goal of the game. Lyndsay Naughton (Reading, PA) scored the final Nittany Lions’ goal, assisted by Arnold, with 18 minutes left in the game.

Cheyana Waters (Woodhull, NY) recorded the loss for the Mustangs, saving 14. With seven minutes left in the game, Sara Boudah (Middlebury, VT) relieved Waters and recorded two saves.

Lion’s goalkeeper Cassidy Dawson (Reading, PA) shut out the Mustangs, playing all 90 minutes.

The Mustangs’ record drops to 1-9 overall and 0-6 in NEAC play. Morrisville returns to Drake Field tomorrow to play Penn State Abington at noon.

Morrisville State College offers more than 80 bachelor and associate degrees and options. The Morrisville State College Norwich Campus offers associate degree programs in accounting, business, computer systems technology, office administration, liberal arts transfer, nursing, early childhood, criminal justice and human services to south central New York residents and employers. Students may also apply coursework to other associate or bachelor degrees at the main campus.
